An action-packed final Test finished 44-40 in favour of England, who remain unbeaten since Eddie Jones succeeded Stuart Lancaster as coach last November.

The man Jones appointed as his skipper, Hartley, wore a beaming smile on Saturday in a post-match interview with Fox Sports.

"Obviously [we're] very happy with the tour," said the hooker. "I think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to come out and play the perfect game and we can all agree it wasn't perfect today, but we put everything into it.

"It was our last 80 minutes of the season and I am really proud of the guys. [Winning] 3-0, we made some history.

"We prepared well and we were confident, but it's been a long season for a lot of these guys. I think that was evident out there, [but there was] great character from the guys to hang in there and close it out.

"We scored 44 points and we haven't played our perfect game yet, so there's still things to work on, but I think we can all be proud of what we've achieved Down Under."
