Hurricanes wait on Nehe Milner-Skudder injury
Hurricanes full-back Nehe Milner-Skudder faces an anxious wait to learn the severity of a shoulder injury sustained against Blues, with head coach Chris Boyd unsure how much action he will miss.
New Zealand international Milner-Skudder landed awkwardly in the tackle during Friday's 23-19 victory before Blues number eight Akira Ioane landed on his left shoulder.
Milner-Skudder, named World Rugby's Breakthrough Player of the Year after helping the All Blacks to World Cup glory last year, subsequently had his shoulder supported by a sling.
The 25-year-old, who has eight New Zealand caps, is now set to be further evaluated.
"We're hopeful he hasn't got any structural damage in his shoulder, which might mean it's only a couple of weeks, right through to it needs a shoulder reconstruction and then he's out for the season," Boyd told Fairfax Media.
Hurricanes' win over Blues was the first of the Super Rugby campaign for last season's beaten finalists.
