Police in the Eastern Region have arrested a 49-year-old ex-convict for attempting to send parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp to some inmates of the Koforidua prison.

The suspect, Paul Ashley was arrested by some prison officials following a tip-off, Accra-based Joy FM reports.
The suspect has since been handed over to the police pending further investigations.
