2 killed, 4 injured in rocket strike
2 people have been killed in Benghazi, Libya after a rocket hit a residential building, 4 others were also injured in the explosion.
Medics in the region say this latest episode brings the death toll from recent fighting to at least 53 people in the past 5 weeks, while about 17 civilians have been killed and 90 wounded in artillery and rocket strikes since the start of April.
According to army spokesman, Mohamed El Hejazi, islamists were firing the rockets whenever his forces approached their strongholds.
The Islamist camp however denies this.
In part of the struggle that has been on since Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown and killed, forces loyal to Libya's internationally recognized government have been fighting Islamist groups in Benghazi.
According to Reuters, army forces have regained some territory in Benghazi lost last year, but fighters of the Islamist Majlis al-Shura still control several districts and the commercial port area.
The official prime minister has been based in Benghazi since the capital, Tripoli, was seized by a rival group that set up its own government. Only the Benghazi government is internationally recognized.
