Several shot and killed in deadly restaurant shooting

Several people have been shot and a few killed after gun men stormed a restaurant in the city of Goteborg, Sweden, Al Jazeera reports.

According to a statement from police spokeswoman Ulla Brehm, an automatic weapon is believed to have been used in the shooting which occurred late Wednesday.

A witness told Swedish broadcaster SVT that 2 men entered the restaurant and started shooting with automatic weapons.

The shooting happened in an area of the city with a history of gang-related violence. Brehm however said it was too early to speculate on the motive but said there were indications that the shooting was gang-related.

While there are no suspects, she said an investigation was underway but there is "absolutely nothing that indicates terrorism."
