Suspect begs to see his baby
Daniel Asiedu, the young man accused of the murder of the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa North, Mr J.B. Danquah-Adu, has requested an Accra Magistrate court to permit him to see his newly born baby.
She has since given birth but Daniel Asiedu is yet to be given access to see the child.It is unclear if the court will grant his request.

However, the prosecutor in the murder case Superintendent Francis Baah on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, told an Accra Magistrate Court that the suspect Daniel Asiedu’s concerns of food have since been addressed.

The suspect at the last sitting indicated that he would want the court to allow his family to bring him food.
He indicated that the police had refused to give him adequate food since December 30, 2016.
Meanwhile, at Tuesday’s sitting, the trial judge Ebenezer Kwaku Ansah ordered the prosecutors to speed up with the bail of the indictment. He subsequently adjourned the case to February 15, 2017.
Background
Daniel Asiedu was arrested few days after the murder of JB Danquah who was the member of parliament for the Abuakwa North constituency in his residence at Shiashie in Accra.
He was charged with murder when arraigned after his arrest and allegedly confessed to stabbing the late MP in his residence which led to his death.
Despite his confessions, another suspect was arrested later as an accomplice.
But the teenager said he entered the MP’s house to steal but not to kill.
According to him, he had to stab the MP who held him tight during a struggle.
