Jordan Spieth is three shots off the lead in Singapore Open

Jordan Spieth was three shots behind leader Song Young-han when darkness cut short his third round at the Singapore Open with two holes still to be completed.

The world number one struggled to master the greens on Saturday as he played 28 holes as a result of the action being suspended on Friday due to lightning.

Spieth carded a one-under 71 after completing the 12 holes of his second round and was one under through 16 holes of his third in the afternoon to move to six under for the tournament.

The two-time major winner, who attracted big crowds at the Serapong Course, was left to rue not being at his best with the putter but is still firmly in contention.

Song leads on nine under with five holes of his penultimate round still to play, while Liang Wenchong took the clubhouse lead after a gruelling day in which he played 31 holes.

China's Liang carded a four-under 67 to sit eight under after his third round and will have the benefit of not having to return at 7.30am on Sunday, when 15 players come back to finish their third rounds.
