Woyome Case Adjourned Sine Die

Case involving businessman Afred Agbesi Woyome in relation to a ₡51.2 million Ghana cedis awarded to him as judgment debt has been adjourned sine die.

Woyome won the court judgment after he said a 2006 contract he had to renovate sports stadiums for Ghana’s hosting of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations soccer tournament was unfairly canceled.

The award became known when lawmakers began looking into the Auditor-General’s report for 2010.

Lawyers for both Woyome and Waterville Holdings involved in the matter were all absent in court.

The adjournment is to enable bailiffs to serve hearing notices on the two parties.

Chief State Attorneys represented by Ms Helen Ziwu and Mrs Stella Badu from the Attoney General’s Department were present in court.
