Akonnor became upset when he was asked what he has done about the Kotoko midfield that he believes still needs to improve.
Asante Kotoko were held to a one all draw by AshGold on Sunday in the J.A Kufour Cup to mark the 80th birthday of the former president of the Republic of Ghana.
C.K Akonnor who wasn’t satisfied with how his midfield delivered on the day highlighted on the lapses in his team’s midfield, but he got furious when he was asked what he has done about the situation by a journalist during a post-match presser.
“I don’t want my defenders to kick the ball whenever they are in control. But one thing is that the midfielders always run away when the defenders are in possession, so they were forced to kick it, which wasn’t helping.
“AshGold demonstrated high ability of holding on to the ball. The likes of James Akaminko and McCarthy did that, but that wasn’t the case on the part of my team.
C.K Akonnor was interrupted by a journalist and that made him bust-up.
“The fact is I have been at Kotoko for four months. I was with AshGold for how long? So when you ask a question reason up,” he told the journalist.
“I spoke about my midfield and that won’t repeat again, so if you ask me what I am doing about that, then what kind of question is that?”
