Former CEO of Kumasi Asante Kotoko,Sylvester Asare Owusu has been named as the new chief of Bantama in the Ashanti Region.
The businessman who shot to fame when he led Kumasi Asante Kotoko to its first league title in over a decade in 2003 succeeds Baffuor Asare Owusu Amankwatia V who passed away in 2015.
Pulse.com.gh understands Asare Owusu will under go rites before a public announcement and a coronation is to be held.
Asare Owusu who is popularly known as "Silvercrest" owns a swathe of businesses in the region and is regarded as one of the wealthiest men in the city of Kumasi.
Bantama is one of the four important traditional quarters of the Ashanti and is unique as one of only three stool in the kingdom that is succeeded in the male line.
