Sylla Mohammed joined Kumasi Asante Kotoko in 2017, after he impressing during trials, but he has struggled to find his feet in the club, which could partly be blamed on injury troubles and change of coaches.
He has been declared surplus to requirement by CK Akonnor, who has fielded him once since he took charge of the team.
The 23-year-old was left out of the Kotoko’s setup that played in the CAF Confederation Cup against Kariobangi Sharks.
The Porcupine Warriors took to their Twitter handle to announce the team’s decision to offload Sylla Mohammed.
"We have mutually terminated the contract between us and Ivorian midfielder Sylla Vie Mohammed...more soon," the club posted on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will jet off to Cameroon to take on Coton Sport in the weekend of 12/13 January in the final elimination stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.Â
