The High Court slapped a charge of Contempt on Kweku Bedu-Addo and the West Africa Head of HR of Standard Chartered  Bank for disobeying    the court’s order that they refrain from laying off workers until dispute over a severance package is addressed.

The Presiding Judge on the case Justice Kwaku Arkaah-Boafo declared that the two individuals had purged themselves of contempt, though the  lawyer of the employees maintains that the Bank has not fully purged itself of the charges because it is yet to fully reinstate his clients.

“The bank says it has reinstated my clients but is yet to restore the full conditions of service. Currently they are sharing one small office at the Opeibea branch of the bank, asking them to await further instructions. In my opinion they have not completely purged themselves”
