Busch, who started the night race from sixth position, led for just 69 laps of the caution-filled GoBowing 400 event but went on to claim the chequered flag.

"It's pretty big," Kyle Busch told Fox Sports after the win. "There have been some rough races at Kansas.

"At the beginning and through the middle part of the race we weren't great, but we kept ourselves in the game."

Pole sitter Martin Truex Jr. led for 172 laps but fell back to 20th after a loose wheel on lap 216 caused him to pit to get all four tyres changed.

Truex finished 14th, meaning Carl Edwards, who went wire-to-wire to claim victory at Bristol, is still the only pole sitter to win this season.

A Matt DiBenedetto accident on the 55th lap brought out the race's second of six cautions at the mile-and-a-half tri-oval track. Paul Menard was involved in a wreck on lap 102 and did not finish the race.

Joey Logano led for three laps but got caught up in a wreck after Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin spun each other out with 26 laps remaining. Hamlin and Logano were both forced to withdraw following the wreck.

"I just got loose. It's crazy, there was no contact, but me and [Logano] just got loose," Hamlin told Fox Sports. "I was just going for it, but caught the wind."

NASCAR will head to Dover next weekend before two weeks in Charlotte for the All-Star race and the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day weekend.
