With the Lightning already leading 1-0 via Steven Stamkos' first-period opener, Paquette fired the puck beyond Coyotes goaltender Louis Domingue.

Jordan Martinook pulled a goal back for the Coyotes in the third period but itĀ could not prevent a third successive defeat for the Arizona franchise.

The Ottawa Senators also extended their winning streak to four games following a 4-1 rout of the Edmonton Oilers.

Zack Smith and Mark Stone starred for the in-form Senators, tallying a goal and an assist apiece to see off the lowly Oilers, who crashed to a fifth-consecutive loss.

The Minnesota Wild were unable to preserve their undefeated run, beaten 4-1 by the New York Islanders.

Minnesota were in the midst of a four-game winning streak before they came unstuck against the Islanders, thanks in part to two goals from Frans Nielsen.

The Nashville Predators edged the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 thanks to a superb performance from Filip Forsberg.

Forsberg had a hat-trick on the road, taking his season tally to a team-high 23 goals as the Predators won for the third time in four outings.
