The gruesome murder of the Ghanaian soldier and the graphic evidence of the way and manner in which he died, struck a cord with many in the country. On the day of his burial, Friday June 9, 2017, the online community took to the platform to pen their heartfelt tributes to the soldier whom many had never met in their lives.

Maxwell Adam Mahama was lynched on Monday, May 29, 2017 by residents of Denkyira Obuasi on suspicion that he was an armed robber. Over 50 people have been arrested in connection to his death.
