Malawian woman on verge of death after live-in lover brutalizes her
A beast of a man in Malawi, John Yasini, is now in police custody after he mercilessly beat his live-in lover, Linda Phulani, to the point of death on April 16, 2015.
According to reports in the Malawian Nation, Yasini accused the woman of cheating on him after she had gone out of the apartment they shared without his permission and cam back late.
The report has it that Phulani who moved in with Yasini on his insistence in January this year, was under strict instructions never to go out of the apartment an was never to entertain any visit from her friends and family members.
But on the day fateful day, she had gone to a neighbouring village to visit friends without telling him and by the time she came back, the furious Yasini pounced on her and beat her so bad she lost consciousness, believing she had gone out to meet another man.
After ordering her to undress so that he could inspect if she had had sex, Yasini used chains and rods to beat her, making her seat on a hot stove, scalding her buttocks. He only left her when he thought she was dead after she fainted. He later had a change of heart and rushed her to a local hospital.
During interrogation, Yasini he had heard rumours that Phulani had been cheating on him under his very nose, and blamed the devil for his dastardly act.
Hear him:
"I am a good person and have never committed any crime in my life. I did not intend to harm my wife. It is the work of the devil. I wish her well. In fact I was the one who took her to our local hospital in our area."
The police say he would soon be charged to court for domestic violence and unlawful wounding.
