The video footage shows the young man identified as Brad Holmes, telling his girlfriend, Jenny Davies, how happy she makes him, complete with the jewelry box and the age old proposal stance.

Holmes goes down on one knee, presents a small white jewellery box from his pocket, being as dramatic as possible.

Davies who looks overcome with emotion as she waited fot the question she's been dying toi hear, is shocked when the request is nothing close to what she had been led to expect.

Instead of asking her to marry him, Holmes shocks her when he says,

"Will you make me a cup of tea?"

Davies storms out of the room in anger, screaming: "Are you f****** joking..You horrible little ****."

The video which Holmes posted on his Facebook page has since gone viral, bringing him under serious blast as many frowned at his joke had that had been anything but funny.

Holmes had later revealed that Davies had forgiven him and even made the tea he had earlier asked for.

He added that Davies had fallen for the prank easily because he had promised to propose to her this year.
