After reading the book, Guro noticed significant differences between Eckankar and Islam.

He sought clarification from Abdul Mumin on various issues, particularly concerning human life, the dignity of women, and adherence to secular laws—areas where Eckankar differed from Islamic ideologies.

Convinced by the explanations, Guro embraced Eckankar and altered his lifestyle accordingly, refraining from mosque prayers and avoiding activities deemed contrary to Eckankar beliefs.

However, Guro's family held a meeting to dissuade him from continuing with Eckankar.

Despite their attempts, Guro remained steadfast, prompting his family to issue threats of disownment and even violence.

Subsequently, some angered youths attacked him, but he was rescued. Faced with ongoing threats, Guro decided to leave his community in search of a place where he could peacefully practice his newfound beliefs.

The rejection extended beyond his family, as the community displayed religious intolerance, leaving Guro feeling isolated.

He questioned the disparity in treatment between his conversion to Eckankar and Christians converting to Islam, noting that the latter group typically does not face persecution.

Despite the challenges, Guro highlighted the positive impact of Eckankar on his life, citing benefits such as spiritual dreams, patience, respect for human life and dignity, honesty, and tolerance.

Eckankar's belief system revolves around the idea that human souls contain a divine essence and aim to draw closer to higher planes of reality, working alongside God in their spiritual journey across multiple lifetimes.
