Defender rejects Manchester United

Mats Hummels, who is one of Manchester United's prime target this coming transfer window has turned down a chance to play for the club.

The Germany international according to his club Borussia Dortmund has expressed his desire to remain with the Bundisliga club.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc on Wednesday, May 20 told Kicker: "It made sense that Mats was thinking about his future, but I always pointed out that we plan [for the future] with him."

Manchester United have however turned their attention to £36m-rated Valencia defender, Nicolas Otamendi.
