John Peter Amewu says playing with the daughter is part of his hobby.

The Minister-designate for Lands and Forestry, John Peter Amewu has said playing with his daughter is part of his hobby.

On his curriculum vitae, the Member of North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa asked the hobbies of the nominee. He answered saying "my hobby is I like playing with my daughter'.

The man credited with the fortunes of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta region appeared before the Appointments Committee of Parliament to justify his nomination as the Minister-designate for Lands and Natural Resources.

He said he will apologise to former President Jerry John Rawlings over his claim that he [Rawlings] called him on phone following the victory of the NPP in the 2016 elections.

Rawlings' absence he said, helped the NPP gain at least 3% more in the Volta region.

However, Rawlings in a statement said the claims by Peter Amewu were untrue.

Responding to questions posed to him before the vetting committee, he said he has already initiated moves to apologise to the former President.

"Processes are on course to apologise to him. I will take the necessary measures to apologise to him but I never said he called me personally," he said .
