Mommsen frustrated after Scotland World T20 exit

Preston??Mommsen bemoaned Scotland's lack of competitive matches after a defeat to Zimbabwe ended their chances of reaching the Super 10 stage of the??World Twenty20.

Scotland have now lost 19 games??at??major ICC tournaments and may have lost all 20 had one not been washed out.

They went down by 11 runs to Zimbabwe in??Nagpur on Thursday after a 14-run loss at the hands of??Afghanistan two days earlier.

Mommsen believes his side are not far away from claiming that elusive first win, but is eager to play more international cricket in order to ensure the Associate nation??can be more competitive.

He said: "In general, it's tough to attribute our lack of getting over the line,??I do go on about it, but there is a lack of international cricket for us. Since the 2015 World Cup I have played in one ODI match - in 12 months."

Sean??Williams top scored with 53 and??Wellington Masakadza took career-best T20 international figures of 4-28 as Zimbabwe posted 147-7 and Scotland were all out for 136 in reply.

Zimbabwe captain Hamilton??Masakadza said: "We have been playing well. The guys are gelling well. The boys are believing a bit more, and that's paying off."
