MotoGP: Marquez wary of growing Ducati threat

MotoGP championship leader Marc Marquez is wary of the threat posed by the improving Ducati over the remaining races of the 2016 season.

Yamaha are seen as Repsol Honda's main rivals in the manufacturers' standings, but Ducati are closing the gap after taking first and second in Austria.

Marquez - still struggling after dislocating his shoulder in free practice - could only finish fifth at the Red Bull ring, with Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso taking the top two places.

Those 45 points saw Ducati move to within 47 of Honda with eight races remaining and Marquez admits they must not solely focus on Yamaha's threat.

"Ducati were very fast in Qatar," said the Spaniard.

"Looks like here even more and [I am] sure [they] will arrive at some circuits, for example Brno, where they can be fast.

"In the end our [title] opponents are Yamaha, but we cannot forget Ducati because they can finish between us and be another opponent for points.

"Maybe they will not be constant like Yamaha, but they have a good bike."
