Murrayfield has been confirmed as the venue for next season's European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup finals.

European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) confirmed the schedule for the 2016-17 tournaments on Wednesday, while revealing that Scotland's national stadium will host the two finals on May 12 and 13 respectively.

The Champions Cup and Challenge Cup will begin next term with two rounds over successive weekends in mid-October.

Murrayfield last hosted a major European final in 2009, when Leinster beat Leicester Tigers 19-16 to win the Heineken Cup.

This year's European club rugby finals will be held at the new Grand Stade de Lyon.
