Two of Ghana’s most controversial boxers, Bukom Banku, Ayittey Powers and a host of celebrities participated in the fourth National Sanitation Day hosted in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale.
The nationwide crusade by the Local Government Ministry to rid the nation of filth that took place in Tamale witnessed a very huge turnout.
Traditional rulers, security personnel, civil society groups, political parties, Members of Parliament, traders, the Clergy and youth groups turned out to clear the street and gutters of Tamale engulfed with heaps of garbage.
The Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Julius Debrah however rated Tamale as the best in terms of the National Sanitation Day exercise participation.
He therefore commended the Chiefs for the exercise and their efforts to make the nationwide cleaning exercise a success.
