According to Nii John Coleman, upon advise from some elders of the NDC, he has withdrawn from the case.

One of the plaintiffs in the case where the eligibility of the parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress for the Klottey Korle constituency Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, is being challenged, Nii John Coleman has withdrawn from the case.

Nii John Coleman who lost in the primaries together with Nii Armah Ashitey in the Klottey Korley constituency announced his decision without informing his co-plaintiff.

According to him, upon advise from some elders of the NDC, he has withdrawn from the case.

Though the withdrawal was objected to by lawyer for Nii Armah Ashietey who until today doubled up as lawyer for Nii John Coleman, Gary Nimako, the application was eventually granted.

The case has been adjourned to March 18, 2016.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission (EC) on March 2, 2016 has confirmed that the name of Dr Zanetor Rawlings is not in the voters' register.

Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Nii Armah Ashitey and Nii John Coleman are challenging the legitimacy of Dr Zanetor Rawlings to contest for a parliamentary seat under the 1992 constitution.

According to them, "A declaration that the election of Dr Zanetor Rawlings as a parliamentary Candidate for the Klottey-Korley Constituency is null and void and is of no effect as same violates the constitution of the NDC and the rules governing the conduct of the 2016 parliamentary primaries."
