Mahama mocks Nana Addo's ‘1 district, 1 factory’
President John Mahama has described the pledge by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo to build one factory in every district as an election wining promise.
According to him, political considerations will not force the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into promising to build a factory in each of the 216 districts in the country.
He said “I know somebody is talking of one factory, one district,” he said.
John Mahama made this known during his presentation of to a cross-section of Ghanaians, the highlights of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto for 2016.
Mahama said, “Location of industries means taking cognition of the whole value chain: the source of raw material, availability of utility services – water, electricity; closeness to markets and a whole raft of issues that we learnt in sixth form economics.”
Nana Akufo-Addo started this trend when he promised to build a factory each in all 216 districts in Ghana if he emerges winner of the upcoming elections.
