Asamoah Gyan has called on Ghanaians to end instant justice meted out to suspected criminals in the society, following the death of Captain Maxwell Adams Mahama.

Captain Maxwell Mahama, an officer of the 5th Infantry Battalion of the Ghana Armed Forces, was a victim of mob lynching by local youths who mistook him for an armed robber. The army officer was first beaten, and later burnt on the morning of May 29th, 2017 in Denkyira-Obuasi, Central Region.

Several people have criticized the inhuman act meted out to one of the very people who are supposed to protect lives in the country and Asamoah Gyan has added up to the growing list of sympathisers for the young army officer.
