‘No contribution no chop’. This might be the saying that informed a 47-year-old Malawian woman to marry her biological 30-year-old son, claiming to have invested a lot of resources in his education, and would not allow any other woman to enjoy the fruits of her labour.

Malawian media reported news of Memory Njemani having tied the knot with her son with whom she is reportedly living currently as a couple.
She is quoted by some online news outlets as saying: “I invested a lot of money in the education of my son. Why should another woman be married to him and enjoy my hard work I invested in him? That will not happen. I’m marrying my son so that we don’t empower other women who have been aborting.”
It is not yet clear what the laws of the southeastern Africa country say about incest and whether Memory Njemani and her son have breached one.

However, some people are reacting negatively to the development, calling for sanctions to be applied to the biological couple.
