Police in the Northern Region have launched a manhunt for suspects in the killing of one Abdulai Hamid, a resident of Kukuo, a suburb of Tamale.

Residents on Monday around 8:30 a.m alerted the police that they had found the body of Hamid lying in a bush, raising suspicion that he may have been lynched by some persons.
The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr Yusif Mohammed Tanko said the police went to the scene and found the deceased with bruises and blood on his body.

He said that the deceased might had been lynched in the course of the night before the day his body was found in the bush.

The deceased, who is a school dropout and a driver’s mate was said to have left home a week ago.
Meanwhile, investigations have been launched into the incident.
