Mendes denies official approach from Manchester United for Mourinho

Manchester United and Jose Mourinho have captured the headlines all week. The Portuguese coach was sacked by English Premier League Champions Chelsea last week.

Old Trafford fans who have been impatient due to a run of poor results from their Manchester United suddenly saw the former Real Madrid coach as the man to replace current boss Louis van Gaal.

Not aided by the result against Norwich City on Saturday, the rumours have spread like wild fire and elements of truth are showing like silver linings in a gloomy dark cloud.

Jose Mourinho was reported to have signed a five-year deal with the Manchester United club with just an official announcement left.

But Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes says his client has no deal with the Manchester club and no official approach has been made despite failing to rule out a possible future negotiations.

Jorge Mendes told reporters of Jose Mourinho’s link with Manchester United:

“There is nothing. We don't know what will happen in the future, but now there is no agreement. There isn't an official proposal either, that's not true.”

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has come under fire for his ‘philosophy’ at the club that seem to be not working. The pressure on the Dutchman has increased since Jose Mourinho’s sack and Pep Guardiola announcing his departure from Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
