Paul Afoko, Kwabena Agyapong attacked by NPP supporters

Some angry supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Thursday chased out the party’s National Chairman Paul Afoko and its General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong from a meeting in the Upper East region.

The Regional Chairman Mahama Adama with some NPP thugs disrupted a meeting between the National Chairman, the General Secretary and 6 constituency executives.

The regional chairman was reported to have mobilized the youth to attack the two national leaders and the Regional organiser Jerry Asamani for organising the meeting without his concern.

But it took the rapid response of the police to avert the situation from degenerating into a bloody meeting.

Some journalists were assaulted in the cause of the incident.
