How some websites reported the victory of 22 year old Francisca Mensah

Most websites in Ghana reported the victory of a 22 year old second year law student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Francisca Oteng-Mensah, over Honourable Kofi Frempong in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries held last Saturday.

Ms. Oteng-Mensah pulled 321 votes to unseat Kofi Frempong who had 187 in the Kwabre East Constituency.

Many sitting members of parliament of the opposition NPP lost their bids to contest in next year’s general elections.

The elections by an electoral college took place in some 245 constituencies.

Delegates making the Electoral College are:a) Members of the Constituency Executive Committeeb) All Electoral Area Coordinatorsc) The Five (5) executives at each Polling stationd) Any Founding Member from the Constituency who is a signatory to the registration document of the Party at the Electoral Commission.e) Five (5) members of the Council of Elders andf) Five (5) Patrons from the Constituency.
