Bugri Naabu lambasts executives lobbying for appointments at the presidency
The Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Daniel Bugri Naabu has hit hard at some constituency executives who have decided to bypass the regional secretariat to lobby for appointments at the Presidency.
According to him, such a conduct is not in line with the NPP’s chain of command and should therefore not be tolerated.
“Some of you think that you can go to Accra and get your appointment and we are fully aware: Now we think that because we have won everybody wants to show that he is intelligent or he knows the big people more than the regional executives who have been put in place to oversee your work.”

“Today when those constituencies come forward with a problem I will refer them to Accra because they know their way to Accra.”
“What I am saying if you think I am wrong don’t sit down quietly. In fact, if you do that you are a hypocrite,” Bugri Naadu said at a meeting in Tamale with all 31 constituency Chairmen, Secretaries and youth Organizers.
The NPP appears to be having some ethnic conflicts in the Northern Region following the ministerial appointments made so far by the president, with some party members accusing the regional Chairman of being bias towards the Konkombas.

Some Dagombas are said to be unhappy about what they call the neglect of their kinsmen in Akufo-Addo’s cabinet, a situation they believe might destroy the fortunes of the NPP in the 2020 elections.
Bugri Naabu has, however, called for teamwork between the regional and constituency executives to increase the party’s electoral fortunes in the region.
