The Samoa international made the switch to the Roosters in 2011 and was a member of their National Youth Competition squad.

Liu made his first-team debut in round four of the 2013 season, the same year the Roosters went on to win NRL.

The 24-year-old spoke of his delight at extending his stay until the end of 2018, telling the club's official website: "The club and all the people here mean so much to me and to know that I'll continue to be part of the Roosters family for a further two years is something I'm really happy about.

"I've learnt so much from Robbo [head coach Trent Robinson] and the coaches over the last few years, so I'm excited to know that I'll continue to work on my game and be part of the team we have here."

Liu has played 70 first-grade games for the Roosters, who are bottom of the table after six matches having won just once this season.
