The Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Mavis Hawa Koomson prior to the 2016 elections has confirmed that she really called President Mahama a "mad person" but did that out of the influence of the members of the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC).

The MP speaking in an interview with a local radio station Pink FM said: "The NDC members themselves wanted to call the President a mad person but couldn’t do that so they did that through me and made me attribute the president as a mad person when I sought to question the quality of work done on the Kasoa Western bypass during its commissioning somewhere last year."
