Ghana’s premier luxury watch brand and presidential watchmaker, Caveman Watches, renowned for its craftsmanship and heritage-inspired designs, has unveiled a specially crafted gold clock artwork in honour of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, which was auctioned for GH₵1.5 million.
The bespoke piece, presented during a high-profile ceremony marking the Asantehene’s 27th anniversary on the Golden Stool, was acquired by businessman Nick Danso Adjei.
Speaking to the media, the Founder and CEO of Caveman Watches, Anthony Mensah Dzamefe, described the creation as a tribute to tradition, leadership, and excellence.
“We are honoured to be part of this celebration with our craft, paying tribute to the legacy, leadership and timeless influence of His Majesty through a piece that reflects both heritage and excellence,” he said.
Designed as both a functional timepiece and symbolic art installation, the artwork is mounted on a finely finished wooden panel featuring multiple precision-crafted clock faces arranged in a structured layout. The design blends contemporary aesthetics with traditional inspiration.
Crafted with approximately 27 ounces of gold, the piece carries a radiant finish that underscores its exclusivity and prestige. A standout feature is its kente-inspired mosaic design, rendered in vibrant geometric patterns that reflect Asante heritage, symbolising royalty, unity, and cultural identity.
The lower section incorporates aligned clock faces, subtly representing time, legacy, and continuity, an intentional artistic tribute to the enduring reign of the Asantehene.
The artwork forms part of commemorative activities celebrating Otumfuo’s nearly three decades on the Golden Stool, reinforcing themes of cultural pride, leadership, and heritage preservation.
