Top seed Wickmayer's win marked her fifth career title and second of the year, adding to the Japan Women's Open she won in September.

The 26-year-old broke serve three times and edged the second-set tie-break to finish a strong year in winning fashion, claiming the title without dropping a set.

Wickmayer last won multiple titles in the same year in 2009.

The final was fifth seed Gibbs' first on the WTA Tour and the 22-year-old American will have to wait a little longer to clinch her maiden crown.
