Parthiv Patel added to India Asia Cup following MS Dhoni injury

MS Dhoni was troubled by a back spasm in training just two days before India's Asia Cup opener against Bangladesh.

Parthiv Patel has been added to the India squad for the Asia Cup after captain MS Dhoni suffered a back injury in training.

Wicketkeeper Dhoni gave India a scare less than a month before their opening ICC World Twenty20 match against New Zealand in Nagpur when he was troubled by a back spasm in Dhaka on Monday.

Patel has been called up to provide cover for the skipper in the Asia Cup in Bangladesh.

India start their Asia Cup campaign against the hosts in Dhaka on Wednesday.
