Multiple award-winning Ghanaian Highlife musician, Obiba Sly Collins, on Thursday, August 18, held a press launch for “Ghana + Peace” campaign at the Obiba Foundation headquarters at North Legon in Accra.
The press launch saw industry players, corporate heads, religious leaders and country managers of his foundation, Obiba Foundation in their numbers.
Speaking at the launch, Sly Collins said “Peace is harmony. Love and togetherness is the foundation of Ghanaians. We see the act of love and kindness every day so we should celebrate it this peace. Life is challenging in every walk of life. Yet, to work in peace and unity, it’s a testament to our core values of strength.”
He advised that Ghanaians should not allow themselves to be bribed with little money for votes and violence at the forthcoming December polls.
“Don’t allow anyone [politicians] to influence you with little money to cause violence during the December polls. The youth of today will rule this nation in the future so don’t allow them to influence you with their money,” he added.
Sly endorsed a calabash which according to him, represents peace.
Executives, delegates and representatives of the “Ghana + Peace” campaign will embark on a tour to all the regions across the country starting this August 2016 for signatory endorsements of personalities including chiefs, clergy, diplomats, stakeholders of Ghana Peace Council, and other invited celebrities.
