Former President John Mahama has said the unprovoked attacks on functionaries and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are needless and must stop.
NDC supporters have reportedly come under a series of attacks after the New Patriotic Party were declared winners of the 2016 polls.
The attacks abated after the leadership of NPP condemned such acts and also urged the police to deal with the perpetrators.
The vandalism has, however, resurfaced since President Akufo-Addo was sworn-in on January 7, with numerous reports of attacks on NDC supporters by NPP members as they seek to take over state properties.
General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia stated that Nana Addo was to be blamed because he has failed to stop members of his who are attacking their members without any provocation.
John Mahama in a Facebook post said, "The unprovoked attacks on NDC functionaries and supporters are needless and must end. Yesterday the National Organiser of the NDC's residence was invaded by security men from the seat of Government, the Flagstaff House in his absence, in search of vehicles when they knew very well they were on the wrong path. This must end."
Some armed men dressed in military fatigues, suspected to be army officers, have allegedly stormed the private residence of the National Democratic Congress' National Organiser, Mr Kofi Adams.
According to Mr Adams, the men, numbering 15, seized all his vehicles in the company of four alleged National Security officers and personnel from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
Meanwhile, Mr Adams who is currently in Dubai said he personally called Mr Kan-Dapaah to verify if he sent any soldiers on that assignment, but the Minister replied in the negative.
He said his family will report the matter to the police.
Angry youth also believed to be sympathizers of the NPP stormed the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) to be given some key installations of the facility.
