Accra is the centre of everything including music. In an industry where musicians success is based on their location, many musicians travel from as far as North to settle in the capital of Ghana, Accra to face the reality. We have witnessed a number of successful musicians who relocated to Accra to make their dreams come true.
The likes of King Ayisoba, Wiyaala, Sherifa Gunu, Kofi Kinaata, Okyeame Kwame, Kwadee, among others relocated to Accra before seeing success. We can't conclude that it has always been the case but the majority of musicians who are non-residence of Accra can attest to this.
This norm affects the rising stars too and rapper Strongman is no exception.
Strongman, one of Ghana's fastest lyricists born and raised in Kumasi rose to fame when he emerged the winner at the maiden edition of 'Next Big Thing in GH Hip-hop' TV contest. He enrolled into Cape Coast University to acquire more knowledge and after graduating this year, he has relocated to Accra to pursue music business.
In an exclusive one-on-one interview with the fast-rising star, he divulged what influenced his decision to relocate to Accra.
According to the "Tonight" hitmaker, his decision was influenced by the fact that Accra is the centre of music and attraction.
"I am an artiste born and raised in Kumasi," he said adding that "but you know, I have to be here to get whatever I want."
Since rising to fame, Strongman has worked with almost all the mainstream secular musicians and actors. He has worked with Sarkodie, Kwaw Kese, Flowking Stone, Yaa Pono, Medikal, Okyeame Kwame, Cabum, Nana Ama McBrown, among others.
He told Pulse.com.gh in a separate interview that he will release a cover song of Sarkodie's hit single titled "Rich N*gga Sh*t" tomorrow (Nov. 4).
