Radradra keen for Eels comeback despite assault charges
Semi Radradra has declined the opportunity to miss Parramatta Eels' NRL clash with Cronulla Sharks on Saturday after a week in which he was charged with assault.
The wing was arrested and questioned after getting off a flight from Fiji on Friday following allegations of domestic violence made by his former partner.
But a club statement confirmed Radradra had passed up the offer of missing the trip to face in-form leaders Cronulla.
"I don't know a lot about it [the charges brought against Radradra], it's happened really quickly," head coach Brad Arthur said.
"It'd be silly of me to make judgment or make a comment. The first process is we need to talk to Semi, see how he is."
Radradra returned to his homeland Fiji almost a fortnight ago amid speculation over his future after he was linked with a code switch to Top 14 side Bordeaux-Begles.
Arthur believes Radradra's team-mates would be happy to see him return this weekend as the Eels target a fourth consecutive win.
"They would want him to play," Arthur said.
"I gave him permission to go to Fiji; Michael Gordon, we gave him time to go away with his family last week [as well]. So every player is different and every case is different.
"It's happened overnight [the charges against Radradra] and the players aren't here yet, but they trained really well during the middle of the week and I'm sure theyll train well today."
