Reds announced a day later that Kerevi needs surgery and is "expected to be sidelined for three to four weeks".
The injury is a blow to Kerevi and his chances of earning Australia selection for June's Tests against England.
The Wallabies host England in three Tests, the first of which will be played on June 11.
For Reds, they are struggling in Super Rugby with just two wins from nine matches.
