Russia gifts its Olympic medal winners BMWs

President Putin presented Russia's Olympic champions with new cars. Gold medalists received BMW X6s, silver medalists got BMW X4s, and bronze medalists were awarded BMW X3s.

Russia’s Olympic medalists from this summer’s Games in Brazil’s Rio de Janerio received free luxury cars from BMW.

The cars were transported to the Kremlin, where athletes picked up the keys at a special ceremony.

Despite a blanket ban on all Russian competitors in athletics and weightlifting, the Russian still brought home 56 medals and came fourth on the medals table behind the USA, Great Britain and China.
