Rio Olympics 2016: Will Claye proposes to girlfriend

What was the best way for Will Claye to cap off earning a silver medal in the triple jump at Rio 2016? Proposing to his girlfriend, of course.

After finishing second to Christian Taylor for the second successive Olympics, Claye gave girlfriend - American hurdler Queen Harrison - a huge rock.

"This morning when I woke up I was like, 'Today is going to be the best day of my life'," Claye told reporters.

"It was stressful because I didn't know if she was going to say yes or not."

Thankfully for Claye, Harrison did say yes.

There have been a number of proposals during Rio 2016. Claye said he had the ring in his bag for a while and decided Tuesday was going to be the day.

"I told her that she was my best friend. I told her that I want to grow old with her. I want her to be by my side for the rest of my life," he added.

"She's so special to me. She pushes me in so many ways and she's helped me grow into the man that I am today, and we've just been boyfriend and girlfriend for about four years."

Harrison just missed out in qualifying for the hurdling event in Rio, but will be going home with much better hardware than a gold medal.
