Sunyani Poly students clash with police over SRC funds

Students of Sunyani Polytechnic in the Brong Ahafo region have clashed with police at the schools premises.

The students are alleging that the President of the Students Representative Council (SRC) have embezzled funds meant for developmental projects in the school.

They are therefore demanding that the SRC President refund their monies or face their wrath.

The situation which resulted in a serious scuffle between the students and executives of SRC brought activities in the school to a halt.

The police in an attempt to prevent the situation from escalating started firing warning shots and teargas to disperse the angry students.

Meanwhile, the Police have arrested ten students in connection with the riot.
