The Awutu Bereku district Police Commander, ASP Samuel Amfo told the media that, “Around 4am we had information that there was a fatal accident on the road between Gomoa and Awutu Bereku so we rushed to the scene and we came, we saw that the accident was so serious that two people lost their lives on the spot.”
“Presently 10 are receiving treatment at the trauma hospital, Winneba, and four of them are also at the Kasoa polyclinic. Four among the victims at the trauma hospital now are in coma and the rest are responding to treatment,” he added.
He said the Benz bus drivers’ mate revealed that “his driver attempted to overtake vehicles ahead of him and in the process, collided with the tipper truck.” ASP Amfo had some words of advise for passengers telling them to keep reckless drivers in check when in commute.
“They have signed with drivers to send them to their detention. They did not sign a contract with the driver to kill them on the road so if the diver is driving carelessly especially at night, then they should talk to the driver to stop whatever he is doing you should leave the driving alone to the drivers,” he said.
