"We embarked on an operation on Monday night, which led to the arrest of the suspect around 3 a.m. on Tuesday. We found him wearing a military T-shirt, while a set of military uniform was also found on him," Sup Issifu told Daily Graphic.

According to the police, the suspect claimed the military uniform he wore belonged to his uncle who was a military officer with the 48 Engineers.

"In his confession, he told the police that he was not a soldier, but that he took the uniform from a 207 vehicle given to him by his uncle, a Staff Sergeant with the 48 Engineers at Teshie," Supt Iddrisu Tanko Issifu said.
