For the third time in the last four Olympics, USA brought home the gold in the event as Rollins followed in the footsteps of Joanna Hayes and Dawn Harper.
Moreover, America secured all three medals for the first time in the history of the event at the Games.
Rollins won in a time of 12.48 seconds, while USA teammates Nia Ali (12.59secs) and Kristi Castlin (12.61secs) came away with silver and bronze, respectively.
Rollins, the 2013 world champion, was the favorite entering the race - which took place on the eve of her 25th birthday - and she did not disappoint.
