Samuel Inkoom joins Bulgarian topflight side after one-year ban

Samuel Inkoom completed his move to Bulgarian topflight side Danube Ruse just one week after FIFA lifted the one-year ban on the former FC Basel defender.

The Ghanaian defender was handed a one-year suspension in 2017 and extended in 2018 from playing football after breaching the terms of contract with his agent over his move to Dnipro in 2011.

Samuel Inkoom has joined Danube Ruse in the Bulgarian topflight league to relaunch his promising career, which took a nosedive, after FIFA lifted his ban.

The 29-year-old last played club football for Bulgarian side Vereya.

Samuel Inkoom joined Al Merreikh of Sudan in 2018, before his ban was extended by FIFA.

The former Asante Kotoko defender was part of the Black Satellites team that won the historic FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2009 and also played in two FIFA World Cups in 2010 and 2014.
